About Oregon Firearms Academy LLC and Staff

Oregon Firearms Academy LLC (OFA) delivers defensive small arms and tactics instruction to law enforcement, corrections, armed security, private investigators, and private citizens. Our students travel from all over the United States including Canada to train with us. OFA courses and instructor's are Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards & Training (DPSST) certified. OFA is a member of the National Rifle Association's Business Alliance, Oregon Gun Owners, the National Rifle Association and is Adjunct Staff at Lane Community College and Linn Benton Community College.

OFA's staff is a blend of, high ranking, law enforcement instructors and highly qualified instructors from the private sector with over 30 + years of combined experience in teaching firearms. This diversity is what makes OFA's courses so rich in content and relevancy for the "real world." Several staff members are senior firearm instructors at the Oregon Police Academy, for a local Sheriff's Office, local dual-county SWAT Team, & SERT (Special Emergency Response Team) team.

Also, all of the staff is adjunct firearm instructors for Clint Smith's International Training Consultants and John Farnam's Defensive Training International. OFA also provides multiple firearms courses through Lane Community College and Linn-Benton Community College's Continuing Education/Job Training programs including courses for new Law Enforcement and Armed Private Security Officers. Recently, OFA staff was honored by being recognized in the acknowledgments in John Farnam's latest book on Defensive Handgunning and Vicki Farnam's new book, released Fall 2002, entitled Teaching Women to Shoot: A Law Enforcement Instructor's Guide.

The OFA team are also experienced competitors including placing in the top seven against the best law enforcement trainers in the nation at SOF matches. Each year the staff continues to hone their skills by attending courses in defensive handgun, shotgun, rifle, sub-gun, sniper/scout, unarmed/knife, SWAT, less lethal, distraction devices, and instructor development programs at many of the nation's premium private and public schools including:
