Current or Retired Officer This is a DPSST
certifed course taught by DPSST certified instructors to meet the firearm qualification
requirements outlined in the HR 218 Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004.
On July 22, 2004 President Bush signed into legislation a
new federal law, which exempts law enforcement officers (LEO) from state laws
prohibiting carrying concealed firearms. The law allows "qualifed" LEOs,
current or retired, to carry a concealed firearm in any state without a CHL. This
qualification course, once completed and passed, meets the annual required state
firearms qualification course of fire.
