This class will provide you with the information necessary to meet, and exceed, the basic handgun safety requirements of ORS 166.291 for obtaining an Oregon Concealed Handgun License. The focus of this course is on using a handgun for self-defense.

The course is nine hours and consists of approximately six and half hours in the classroom and two and half hours on the range. Each student will shoot 50 rounds from their defensive handgun.

NOTE: Historically this class fills up two months in advanced and usually has a waiting list.

My wife and I both agree that every penny that class cost us was money well spent. You may be a bit pricier than other classes, and the drive time to be there at 7:30 was a slight inconvenience, but we were rewarded with such friendly folks, teaching but doing it with some personality, and going so deep into it, that we’ll be back. I personally was astounded to find that much of what I had learned in the past was added to in ways that I will carry with me forever (and some of what I had learned was ‘Bogus Crap!). Pointing and shooting is easy, doing it correctly will take the training you give. My wife, my boys, and myself shoot regularly. From now on it will be done with a higher level of safety and competence.

The Academy’s knowledge and competency was, beyond question, the best I have ever experienced in any class and on any shooting range.
