The Glock is the hottest selling defensive handgun in America. That is why the factory trained Instructors from Oregon Firearms Academy have taken their professional training & law enforcement experience and put together a defensive handgun course specially designed for the Glock. There are numerous "Glock-Myths" about proper ammunition selection, accuracy, cleaning, and functional procedures this class will clear up once and for all! Oregon Firearm Academy instructors are also factory Certified Armorers (Glock repair technicians). This course is the same course used to train and "qualify" law enforcement officers. At the conclusion of this course you will "qualify" with your Glock using the same "qualifying-course-of-fire" as professional law enforcement.

You will learn:

  • The specific components and functioning of the Glock Handgun
  • How to correctly care for, clean, & lubricate your Glock
  • The correct presentation "draw" of a Glock from a belt holster
  • Administrative procedures - the correct process for loading, unloading, chamber check, field inspection, & firearm readiness
  • Basic tactical procedures - combat reload, tactical reload & reducing stoppages
  • How to shoot the Glock two-handed, one-handed, and transition to either hand on demand
  • Various tactical exercises including contact distance out to 20 yards using a Glock
  • Close quarter defensive shooting
  • How to move to the rear and laterally while drawing and shooting the Glock in self-defense
  • How to assume various shooting positions such as kneeling and shooting around cover
  • How to gain more competency and accuracy to protect oneself in a self-defense scenario
  • Intro of self-defense within enclosed structures/buildings -'shoot house'

What you'll need for the course:
  • GLOCK handgun in any caliber
  • Quality belt holster & sturdy belt (holster must cover the trigger and remain open when the GLOCK is removed.)
  • GLOCK Rental Pistols are Available! Don't own a GLOCK - No Problem!

People who have taken this class said:

" The learning was paced so that I continued to learn quickly all day long, each day. First pistol training where I shot as much ammo as I really wanted. We practiced malfunction drills until they were nearly second nature. I've been to several out of state all week long trainings. This two day training topped them all."
-- Donald Morris

"It is gratifying to benefit from such highly professional instructors. That they are local and produce such a well designed course for such a reasonable cost is astounding. This is an exceptional bargain in skills taught and the location is wonderful! Thank you gentlemen."
-- Dr. Jack Peterson

"Very helpful! Practical and informative. I appreciate the focus on safety, while still enabling multiple styles of shooting to enhance my skills. You don't know how much you don't know, until someone shows you."
-- Phil Taylor

"I have found that both Rick and Dan have shown both leadership and marksmanship skills. Both do an excellent job of teaching. Every person that shoots a pistol for defensive reasons should take this class."
