Two Day
Defensive Carbine Course

~ This is the same rifle course taught to law enforcement ~
$250 per person
7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Skill Level: Basic Rifle
Prerequisites: Basic Handgun Safety Course is required & Defensive Handgun 1 is strongly suggested
(as we do some work with handguns as back ups to our rifles - note picture below - learning how to use a handgun when the rifle fails or runs out of ammo)

The AR-15, Colt Sporter, Olympic Arms, Bushmaster, Mini 14, SKS, Galil, FN/FAL and other similar rifles make excellent short-range defensive firearms. This is why the Certified Instructors from Oregon Firearms Academy have taken their professional training & law enforcement experience and put together a defensive rifle course specially designed for the AR15, its variants, and other similar rifles and/or carbines. The intent of this course is to learn how to use a rifle in close range, high speed defensive situations.

You will learn:

      • How to correctly care for, clean, & lubricate your rifle
      • How to correctly "sight-in" your rifle - we will sight in all rifles
      • The various methods of carry/sling positions
      • Administrative procedures - the correct process for loading, unloading, & firearm readiness
      • Basic tactical procedures - combat reload, tactical reload, & reducing stoppages
      • How to assume rapid shooting positions such as offhand, prone, & kneeling
      • Various tactical exercises including contact distance out to 25 yards
      • How to move to the rear and laterally while shooting the rifle in self-defense
      • How to assume various shooting positions using cover & concealment
      • Introduction of using a Carbine/Rifle in an enclosed structure
