Equipment
Necessary for each individual attending:
- A 20 or 12 ga. pump or autoloader shotgun with carry sling
- NOTE: Shotguns equipped
only with a pistol grip (with no butt
stock) will not be allowed at the school as they are a safety hazard, plus, you
cannot successfully & safely manipulate it during the course. Shotguns equipped
with a combination of butt stock and pistol grip are okay.
- 350-400
rounds of birdshot (Shot size of #9, 8, or 7 1/2 is fine and steel shot is NOT
recommended)
- 5 rounds of buckshot & 5 rounds of slugs (Standard
velocity or "tactical" low velocity is okay)
- A handgun
with (2) magazines or speedloaders and 50 rounds of handgun ammunition.
- A carrying sling attached to your shotgun (standard 1" nylon sling
is perfect!)
- Hearing protection - Ear Muffs are for sale in
our Alumni Pro Shop
- ANSI/OSHA wrap-around Safety Glasses are
required - Glasses are for sale in our Alumni Pro Shop
- Ball
Cap or hat with brim/bill
- Knee pads are suggested but not required
- SUGGESTION: Wear pants with large pockets "BDU type" or
a jacket/shirt with large pockets to hold shotshells. A special shotshell carrier
is not needed but each student will need to keep at least 25 rounds on their person
during the range exercises to easy facilitate reloading without having to leave
the firing line to obtain more shells.
- Lunch, beverages, and
dress for shooting outdoors
