Vehicle Defense Course
Do you carry a firearm in your vehicle for protection?
Tuition is $300
7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Prerequisite: Basic Handgun Safety course or its equivalent and Defensive Handgun 1.

If so, have you ever devised a safe plan to deploy your handgun or long gun during a confrontation inside or around your vehicle? We spend most of our awaking hours in our home or vehicles. Yet most of us never learned the safe and correct process to use a defensive handgun from inside or outside our vehicle. Well now you can!

This eight-hour intermediate level course will help you work through and solve the potential hazards of presenting & firing your defensive handgun from inside or outside your vehicle. This course will teach you how to use the vehicle for cover. Various methods of handgun carry & presentation will be covered. You'll learn how to work with a partner or passengers. We'll show you how to safely & correctly remove your seatbelt, draw the handgun, and exit the vehicle quickly and safely both as a driver and as a passenger. You'll learn team tactics such how to communicate, shoot, and movement with a partner inside and outside a vehicle. You'll learn how to solve multi-dimensional problems, which can occur, in vehicular related confrontations.

You will learn about:

  • How to draw & shoot safely from any position in a vehicle (front seat, drivers seat, passenger, or back seat)

  • How to correctly remove a seat belt, open the door, and safely draw the handgun while seated in the vehicle

  • How to safely & tactically leave a vehicle solo or with others

  • How to communicate & work with mulitple passengers - including others who may be armed

  • Discover about equipment and resources you should have in your vehicle for emergencies

Equipment Necessary for each individual attending:

      • A safe reliable revolver or pistol

      • Sturdy holster, magazine pouch, & belt

      • At least 350 rounds of ammunition

      • Minimum of 2 magazines or speedloaders

      • Eye protection

      • A vehicle to be used on the range

      • Hearing protection

      • Hat or Cap with bill

      • Lunch, snacks, & beverages

      • Dress for outdoors
